General Information
The rules and regulations included here apply to Ignite Youth Xplosion generally. The visual art gallery is open to all 2020 registered attendees.
Accepted mediums for the two-dimensional artwork are as follows:
• Paintings: oil, acrylics, watercolor, etc.
• Drawings: colored pencil, pencil, ink, marker, pastels, charcoal (It is recommended that charcoal and pastel drawings be fixed.)
• Collages: must be two dimensional
• Prints: lithographs, silkscreen, block prints • Mixed Media: use of more than two mediums such as pencil, ink, watercolor, etc.
• Computer-generated art
• Photographs
• Poetry (30 lines)
• Prose (150 words)
Each entry must be original in concept, design, and execution and may not violate U.S. copyright laws. Any entry that has been copied from an existing photo or image (including a painting, graphic, or advertisement) that was created by someone other than the attendee is a violation of the gallery rules and will not be accepted. This means if you submit something that is not your creation and pass it off as your own work, you are committing a crime! Therefore make sure that you are ONLY submitting your own work!
Tips: Preventing Copyright & Plagiarism Violations
• Stick with the theme – Setting the World On Fire For Jesus.
• It is your responsibility (as the submitter of a work) to educate yourself on all copyright laws as well as concept of plagiarism. Take a look at the blog - Copyright Considerations, Chorus America 2020 is referenced as a guide. It is not an extensive lesson about copyright. Plagiarism.Org also serves as page of reference.
• Collages: must be two dimensional
• Do not submit a work if you doubt (even a little bit) that it is original.
• Do not submit fan art or fan fiction.
Ignite Art Gallery Submission Form
Each entrant must submit an Ignite Art Gallery Submission Form 2020. The Ignite Art Gallery Submission Form 2020 is available through the Ignite Youth Xplosion website (www.igniteyouthxplosion.com). The form requires a description of the artwork, which should clearly identify the major elements of the work. Additionally the form contains a legal release and a certification that the artwork is original in design and execution. The entrant and a parent/guardian must sign where appropriate. Entries without signed originality certifications and artwork releases will not be accept.
